Historic Ohio City

Ohio City is located across the Cuyahoga River from downtown Cleveland. Its Market Square District is a four block area featuring late 19th century architecture and Art Deco buildings. The West Side Market, a rich historical Cleveland tradition for over 100 years, showcases great ethnic diversity. It is home to over 100 vendors who offer fine meats, fresh vegetables, fresh seafood, wonderful baked goods, dairy and cheese products plus fresh flowers. The historic charm of Ohio City’s streets and storefronts are authentic, so are the artisans who run the businesses. There are exceptionally fine glass blowers, florists, designer boutiques and great shops

The renovation of the Transformer Station is a join project of nationally respected art collectors Fred & Laura Bidwell and the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA). The Bidwells will use the non-profit gallery for six months of every year to mount shows based on their world-class collection of cutting-edge contemporary photography. CMA will present many of their own treasures for the remainder of the year. It is CMA’s first separate space outside of University Circle.
